Slow buds the pink dawn like a rose From out night’s gray and cloudy sheath; Softly and still it grows and grows, Petal by petal, leaf by leaf.
Susan Coolidge

The colors of the sky are like an oil painting, a backdrop for the allium that sway and dance to the calls of morning songbirds on the breeze.  Some have turned to bony skeletons, signally the coming end of another allium season but the large bulb I’ve been featuring is still lush and full.  There will be a few more days of photographs to mark its sojourn in the garden.
